I only work on a small number of weddings each year, to make sure each one gets the attention it deserves. This does mean that I tend to get booked up a long time in advance – often as much as a year – so I always recommend getting in touch as soon as you’ve set a date and got an idea of your venue.

Pinterest is such a helpful tool to use when planning your wedding, and there’s inspiration galore out there. However, gathering inspiration is one thing, copying another designer’s work is quite another. When it comes to your wedding flowers, I would much rather start from a clean slate, and allow the ideas to grow organically. That way, your floral designs will be unique to the two of you. My consultation and design process has been tailor-made to tease out concepts and ideas based on the things you love. When you’re with me, you don’t need Pinterest, I promise!

Seasonality and supporting local growers and flower farmers is something that’s very important to me and the way I run Dittany Entwined. I try to stay local to Yorkshire where I can, but I also have some trusted growers in Holland (known as the floral centre of Europe) who I work with regularly. The most important thing to me is getting the best quality products for the specific look you want to achieve. Having access to several quality wholesalers in the UK and in Holland for both British and imported flowers allows me to access a wide variety of flowers and foliage and to have no limits on the creativity I use in what I design for you.

First of all, don’t panic! This is one of the reasons that you choose to work with a floral designer like yours truly. I’ll guide you through the world of flowers and help you to start sensing exactly the look and feel that you want. In the meantime, I’d suggest looking outside of all things floral for inspiration. Think about colours and textures that you’re naturally drawn to – look around your home and pick out some favourite pieces that you love. All of this can help inform the design of your flowers – they’re a remarkably versatile medium. I’m here to help you every step of the way, and together we’ll banish that overwhelm!

I’m based in York, and I predominantly work across Yorkshire and the North of England, but will travel further afield if need be. I love exploring new places an venues so please get in touch if you love what we do.

Yes. My minimum spend is £2000, but my couples typically spend between £5000 and £25,000 on their flowers. This is to allow freedom of design and to be able to incorporate those large ‘wow’ pieces that I’m known for, and that you’re most likely looking for if you’re considering me as your wedding florist! For weddings further afield we have a minimum spend of £4000.

The flowers are yours to keep, and it’s totally up to you what happens to them. The only things I need back are the vases, vessels, containers and items used for mechanics. When we come to clear down we can loosely bunch them up for you to make gifting them easier. I can also provide some details of local hospices and other places that will gratefully receive flowers for their residents. This will be discussed more at your final details meeting. The short answer to this is yes of course. I understand that wedding planning is a long old journey, and that ideas can shift and change along the way. Should you need to tweak colours or certain elements that’s no problem at all, but please be aware that significant alterations will require a re-quote and an additional fee.
